Our Finances
The American Rescue Workers receives a very limited amount of government funding for its services. As a faith-based organization, the American Rescue Workers maintains the standards set forth by the government for separation of church and state. In compliance with the stipulations of government grant money received, the American Rescue Workers does not force its emergency shelter residents to attend Biblical instruction. All who enter the shelter are encouraged, however, to take advantage of as many resources as possible available to them at the facility. Those men who have committed to a more in-depth portion of programming are required to attend a percentage of meetings in order to complete the program successfully.
All aspects of religious instruction from the American Rescue Workers are funded through private donations and the revenue generated from the thrift store and other fundraising and solicitation efforts. We implore our donors and supporters to continue to make these unrestricted funds available for us so that we may minister to the many who come to our doors for help. Likewise, we seek private funding from grants and other available groups such as local churches and civic groups to help generate revenue. Truly, the collaboration and continued help from the community for this organization is what exemplifies the service logo of the American Rescue Workers, "People Helping People."
