Our Vision

The American Rescue Workers, Inc., founded in 1884, is a national religious and charitable movement organized and operated on a quasi-military pattern and is a branch of the Christian Church. Its membership includes officers (clergy), soldiers/adherents (laity), and members of varied activity groups and volunteers who serve as advisors, associates and committed participants in its service functions. The organization is motivated by the love of God and a practical concern for the needs of humanity.

The Canton Corps carries out this vision through its enlistment of officers, staff personnel, volunteers, and other supporters throughout the community. The American Rescue Workers was established in Ohio in 1924. The Canton Corps is known for its ongoing ministries to homeless men, providing them the basic necessities of life such as clothing, food and shelter, while offering them hope for a more abundant life through sound Biblical teachings and instructions.
